The Triumph Elm - Ulmus Morton Glossy - is a selection that resulted from a controlled cross between Vanguard Elm and Accolade Elm - conducted by Dr. George Ware at the Morton Arboretum.Introduced through Chicagoland Grows - it has an upright habit with strong branching - large - lustrous dark green foliage and excellent disease and pest resistance. - Triumph develops softly arching branches as it matures. - Elms are adaptable to a wide variety of soil conditions and come in graceful - vase-shaped and weeping forms.Elms prefer full sun and adapt easily to extremes in pH - moisture - wind and heat. - The aggressive roots can probably break sidewalks and raise pavement if trees are improperly located.An excellent shade tree - Triumph Elm offers excellent disease and pest resistance to Dutch elm disease - Elm Yellows and Elm Leaf Beetle. - Elms are back. - This attractive Triumph Elm makes an excellent shade tree for home and commercial landscapes - parks or as a street tree.* Excellent disease and pest resistance* Arching branches* Dark foliage
